Identity Project ! :)

What when through my mind

Before starting this project, i had many thoughts about what kind of identity i would create at first.  Many things ideas went thought my head, i could not decide if i wanted to create a female or a male as my identity. Then i bagen to think how what i would create, if a blogger of a Facebook or something else. By creating a Blogger, that wouldn't really be much fun bcuz all i would do is just blog about my day and interesting things that happened to the identity i created. I began to put more thought into this project after Professor Glenn told the class about it, before going to bed for 2 nights i began to brain storm of what to create. I wanted something that would have a good effect and that i would enjoy doing.

So suddenly 3 nights later, after putting much thought into it every night i had a epiphany!!! :) i thought about making a Facebook of a female, BUT i didn't just want to create just anyone  that didn't exist. I had a feeling that not many people would add me or would want to know about me. Because if i had a Facebook im pretty sure that i would add anybody other than the people and friends i know on a personal level.

The Idea!!!
After 3 nights of putting in so much thought i decided to create a Facebook account of a person who does exists and who does have friend on Facebook, but that currently doesn't and has never have an account on FB. I wanted to do this because i would actually have friends adding me but that knew this identity, i wanted to pick someone that existed because i also waned to relate to people and talk to them. I chose a female that is pretty, much taller and outgoing, something that i dont have and wish i could. But that is just not my personality and i know as hard as i try i wont ever be that way.

FEMALE IDENTITY
My female identity goes by the Name of Sharlene S.
She is average hight, out going with a boyfriend and cute hair. :)
She is currently going to school and working on her Doctorate for a psychologist.
She is 25 years old, and is currently going thru finals and stressful times.
She lives with her parents
She is also a very social person, loves to go out and meet new people,

The Experience
After working on this project for a few days i began to like it, more and more people started adding me and they would as about life and school and other things. At first i didn't know what to post on my wall, then i started to post things about school and how stressed i was with finals, (wish in a sense it was true i was stressed nut i was putting it under someone else's identity). People would comment and like the post.

Stress !!!!!!

I began to realize that i started to logg on to Sharlenes FB more than my own!!. the main reason was because, i knew that people knew who this person was, but they had no idea who was at the end of the computer posting things and replying. In a sense i felt like i to be and do whatever i wanted because i would be judged as Nancy i would be judged as Sharlene my other identity.

Friends
Friends would show some love on my wall sometimes, i liked it because i could say what i wanted and not be embarrassed its like i was living a second life but im mysterious and no one knows me. At least exactly who i am. heehehhe i felt so sneaky but i liked that idea of all of this.

<3

After posting things on my wall for about 2 weeks, i liked doing it and talking to people with out having to worry that they would judge me in anyways because in reality they didn't really know who was in the other side of the computer. I like having this second identity and be able to choose if i want to m=be myself or be someone else for a while.

Lastly.

This was my favorite project i did for this class. It did take sometime to do everything and also to communicate with people and talk to them. My favorite thing about this was you can do or say whatever you wanted and at the end of the day you wouldn't be judged and if you did you wouldn't care because its another identity that is being judged. It was a nice feeling pretending you had something bigger going for me, for example that i was working on my Doctorate. and that i also drove a nice car.

One of the main things that i thought was kind of scary about all of this, is you never know if the person you are talking to on the other side of the computer is really who they are saying they are. At first i felt guilty about lying but then i liked it and it didnt bother me. But im sure if the people that i was taliking to found out they would probably be upset. Over all this experiance and this class was pretty exciting and fun i enjoyied attending class and listening to our prefessors lectures and talks during class, but what i loved the most was out  pot-locks, those where always fun and enjoyable :)

Thank you for every thing Professor Glenn :)

Artist

Delappe is an associate professor of the department of art at the University of Nevada. he is famous for protesting on Iraq War. He as a web site called Iraqmemorial.org. Joseph Delappe's dead in Iraq is an online performance, memorial and protest. This video game shows how many soldiers from the army have died in Iraq. This video game, shows a soldier from the army laying down in the floor dead without anyone helping him. This video game is not intended to show the pleasure to show soldiers dead for fun but to show the seriousness of the war in Iraq. This video game brings messages to many Americans in the U.S.
Being in Iraq is not a fun place to be at, the war kills many soldiers each year leaving many people sad and lonely. This video shows how joining the army is not a good place to join because it leads many soldiers to death. it leaves soldiers laying down in the floor without anyone helping them.

SANDRO BOTTICELLI

Most Famous Works: La Primavera, The Birth of Venus, and The Adoration of the Magi
Botticelli was an Italian painter of the Florentine School during the Early Renaissance movement.

Details of Botticelli’s life are sparse, but we know that he became an apprentice when he was about fourteen years old, which would indicate that he received a fuller education than did other Renaissance artists. He was born in the city of Florence in a house in the Via Nueva, Borg’ Ognissanti. Vasari reported that he was initially trained as a goldsmith by his brother Antonio.

In one of his earliest works, “La Primavera,” Botticelli created a mythological scene on a panel over 6 feet high. For this work and the “Birth of Venus,” Botticelli is credited as one of the first painters to make mythological paintings on a large-scale since the Classical era. Most artwork of this size was previously completed in the 15th century for private residences by Flemish and French tapestry makers at a higher cost.

i liked these 2 artist :D !

Lecture :)

This past Tuesday we talked about:

* Realism - Romanticism
*Abstraction - Representation
* Patter - Variation

After discussing these topics as a class, we got into mini groups and discussed if we, either liked patterns or if we liked having a variation in our lives.

As for me my variation with music is pretty mixed. i like to listening to everything and anything from English to Spanish. As for my college classes i like a variation of them. i like to take different classes every semester. i dont really care for taking 4 classes of the same subject, that would just be plain boring and i would go nuts. As far a my friends, i like to pretty much keep a pattern, a pattern of good and educated people. I like to surround my self with successful and smart people. Next, for my partner i like a minimal of variation, not always the same thing it is nice to sometimes change things. Lastly, as for my life it self i like a variation i like to do different things daly, learn and see different people, even eat different things, otherwise i think my life would be boring if everything i did was a pattern. Its nice to have variation for everything and always have an opened mind to new things.

This week was my turn to be a judge and grade a few students on their presentation. I enjoyed doing it , for the most part everyone did well but there were 3 presenters that were kinda boring. The students didn't seem to like or be interested themselves in their own artist or they just didn't have enough information to present to the class. After the class left me and 2 other girls discussed everyones scores and deliberated then came to a conclusion. i had a good time judging my colliges. :)

PROJECT #1

LACMA

On November 26, 2011, I got the opportunity to go LACMA museum in Los Angeles, California. LACMA museum is so enormous, is almost like the size of a city. I liked it way better than Norton museum, except the parking fee was so expensive. When I arrived to LACMA Museum, I didn't know from what building to start looking at. Soon I started looking at Jane and Marc Nathason Gallery. The first piece of art that impressed me was the big blue dog because when I was younger, I would go to birthday parties or the mall and I would always see clowns doing cute dog balloon figures. All of a sudden I come to LACMA museum and find this gigantic blue dog. This blue dog identifies with me because I always enjoyed looking at the clowns doing figures and I remember that I always wanted these kind of dogs balloons figures. One time back in the days, my parents bought me a dog shape balloons.

The View

While I was taking a walk around all the building, this place that shows the view of Los Angeles City. Los Angeles City, identifies with me because this is where I grew up. Los Angeles City has been my home, its been the city that has showed me the opportunities in life. For example, this museum full of paintings that I didn't know that it existed, Los Angeles City has giving my family and me the opportunity to have a better future. It has giving me the opportunity to go to school and learn. This is why Los Angeles City identifies with me, because its where I have grown up.

Another painting that identifies with me is the painting of the Virgin of Guadalupe, painted by Manuel Arellano in 1691. This painting identifies with me because it represents part of my religion and faith. I am a catholic and I have faith in the virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary is someone who I put my faith into. She is someone who I ask for a miracle or at least someone who I ask for help. I have learned so much about the Virgin Mary that has influenced me to keep myself motivated, even when everything is not going so well.

Favorite Part

This part was my favorite part of the museum, it was a set up of a bunch of different lamppost. It was very beautiful that it was almost romantic. Many people were taking pictures in this area.

Stacked Plates

i wanted to knock them over !!! ;)....... jk !

Over all i had an awesome time at this museum, i loved all the art that i saw and read about. I would differently go back to this museum and experience it again. I cant wait to go to other ones && complete my art projects. :)

Raphael Vs Renoir

RAPHAEL
Raffaello Sanzio da Urbinowas born on April 6, 1483 in Urbino, Marche, Italy
Died: April 6, 1520 [age 37] in Rome, Italy

Most Famous Works: The School of Athens, Christ Supported by Two Angels, and The Parnassus
Raphael was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance movement who was celebrated for the perfection and grace of his drawings and paintings. Together with Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, he forms the traditional trinity of great masters from that period.

Raphael was born in the small but artistically significant Central Italian city of Urbino in the Marche region, where his father Giovanni Santi was court painter to the Duke. His mother Màgia died in 1491 when Raphael was eight followed on August 1, 1494 by his father, who had already remarried. Orphaned at eleven, Raphael’s formal guardian became his only paternal uncle Bartolommeo, a priest, who subsequently engaged in litigation with his stepmother. He probably continued to live with his stepmother when not living as an apprentice with a master. He had already shown talent, according to Giorgio Vasari, who tells that Raphael had been “a great help to his father”. A brilliant self-portrait drawing from his teenage years shows his precocious talent.

Renoir

Born: Pierre-Auguste Renoir on February 25, 1841 in Limoges, Haute-Viennes, France

Died on December 3, 1919 [age 78] Cagnes-ser-Mer, Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azor, France

Most Notable Works: Bal du moulin de la Galette, Luncheon of the Boating Party and Umbrellas. Pierre Renoir was a French artist who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style.

Renoir, the son of a working class family, worked in a porcelain factory as a child where his drawing talents led him to chosen to paint designs on fine china. He also painted hangings for overseas missionaries and decorations on fans before he enrolled in art school. During those years, he visited the Louvre often to study the French masters paintings. In 1862, he began studying art under Charles Gleyre in Paris. At times during the 1860s, he did not have enough money to buy paint. Although Renoir first started exhibiting paintings at the Paris Salon in 1864, recognition did not come for another ten years, due in part to the turmoil of the Franco-Prussian War.
