Diego Rivera vs Gustav Klimt

A little about Diego, he was one of Mexico's famous painters. He didn't want to go to go a traditional panting school so he began to develop a style that combined historical, social and political ideas. His great body work reflects cultural changes taking places in Mexico and around the world during the turbulent century. He was born in Guanajuato MX and he also had a twin, but died at a young age. Diego began to drew at only 3 years old.

Diengo has beautiful painting full of life and details. Ever since i was  young i loved to look at his painting and read about where he came from. i even remember learning about him in elementary school. His painting are very cultural, the woman he paints look very traditional just like the woman in Mexico. The colors he uses in the paintings are soft and add life and make everything very warm. His paintings would look great in any home as decoration.

The painting above is my favorite from Diego, this reminds me of when i would go to Mexico as kid and my mom would have me smash chilis and that same tool and also we would make tortillas for dinner that evening. Most of these paintings remind me of when i go to mexico and see al my family and spend time with everyone during the holidays.

Gustav Klimt

Gustav Klimt was born on Kuly 14, 1862 in Baumgarten Australia. He was the second child out of seven siblings && he was the son of a poor jeweler engraver. Gustav began developing his talent as an artist at the age of 14 years old he attended a University and graduated at the age of 20. He then began to do paintings here and there. Time passed and he founded a company of artists with his brother and a fellow student. Their found was much success as mural painters, getting contracts from museums, theaters and other decorative artwork for wealthy patrons.

Klimt got most of his talent form his father, he was the one that tough him a lot of what he knew and many of his paintings were inspired by what his dad had tough him. Once of the skills his father tough him was engraving. His paintings often included gold and silver paint, metalt and ceramics and most of the attention was given to the ornamental details the paintings had. Very few of his paintings were done on canvases Klimt just preferred to paint murals. His murals were very interesting pieces, they were very abstract and most of them have a lot of shapes put in to them more that being an image. I like the colors of most of his murals and i like the idea of them also, for the most part the murals all relate to each other im some way or another.
