De Goya
He was born in Fuendetodos Spain on March 30 1746. Him and his family later in life move to another city where Francisco met Jose Luzan, where this man was an artist and he because his mentor. After some years Francisco went to Italy to go and study, when he came back he he received his first commissions, paintings frescoes in the the Cathedral of El Pilar. He got the commission from a fellow painter the he knew. Later in his life after working a lot and painting many of his most famous pieces he Goya was striked with and illness that left him completely deaf from both ears. He was also given the First Spanish court painter title. Even tho he couldn't hear anymore he became great at communicating eveything through writing and he also learn how to sign.
Most of his paintings are mainly of people dressed in the time of the 1700. The colors he uses are very settle which make the paintings look very soft and simple but at the same time they have a lot of detail bcause of the people he painted. Their clothing and their hair also detailed and everything is just very smooth and flows and melts right into each other. This is why i picked this artist i really liked his art work.
Rembrandt
Born: Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn on July 15, 1606 in Leiden, Dutch Republic
Rembrandt was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European history and the most important in Dutch history. His contributions to art came in a period that historians call the Dutch Golden Age.
Having achieved youthful success as a portrait painter, his later years were marked by personal tragedy and financial hardships. Yet his etchings and paintings were popular throughout his lifetime, his reputation as an artist remained high, and for twenty years he taught many important Dutch painters. Rembrandt’s greatest creative triumphs are exemplified especially in his portraits of his contemporaries, self-portraits and illustrations of scenes from the Bible. His self-portraits form a unique and intimate biography, in which the artist surveyed himself without vanity and with the utmost sincerity.
