Artist: Henri Fantin-Latour Vs. Max Ernst

Henri Fantin-Latour 

Henri was born in France in 1836. His father was a painter and that is where Henri learned his panting skills and eventually has his work at a famous gallery in France.

After looking at his art work online i realized that most of his art are flowers and nature. His art work is very precise and very clean. Most of his work are either portraits, fruits or flowers.

The image to the left is one of my favorite pieces. This painting reminds me of my mom because she loves flowers especially buying them and putting them up in the kitchen as a natural decoration. As far as the painting i like the colors he chose for the flowers. The colors  make the painting look very calming and soothing and realistic. i would definitely love to put this painting up in my living room. It is so detailed and there is so much passion and thought put into this painting. I love how this painting reminds me of Love, Life and Relaxation.  

Lastly, this painting is one of my other favorites painting from Henri. This painting is so detailed with the trees in the background, all the leafs on the trees u can count each one of them. The man and the woman are also so detailed, the woman's long dress and her hair. This painting brought me back memories of when i was in Mexico one day and i found an old album full of pictures on of my grandmother and my parents and aunts. The pictures where black and white and also the way they were dressed were alike just like the painting above.


Max Ernst 

Max was also born in France in 1891, he went to school and studied Philosophy. He then bagan to get into an art movements. He always had an interest in art and began to paint.

His paintings are different than Henri's paintings. Max' paintings are more creative and have many deferent shapes, color and significance behind it. They remind me of abstract things that are all put together in one and signify something. For example the painting on top looks like there is a figure with two legs and 1 arm, kind of reminds me of an monter. With a mini monster sitting on top of something hekoing the other monster paint some thing on a green canvas.


Both artist are very unique and creative, i loved every painting i found.
