Thoughts about Graffiti
People that write graffiti see graffiti as an expression of thoughts, feelings, emotions and more. They feel that graffiti represents more than just letters written on the walls. For these people, graffiti represents somethings positive for the cities and the people who get eye captured by this type of art. For example, graffiti has been use to defend the rights of many people. Many of these positive graffiti postings have help people open their eyes and view the reality and do something about it. As the people who are against graffiti, they see graffiti as an act of vandalism and they consider it as not okay. These people do not see graffiti as art, therefore they believe that these people don’t deserve the right to be doing graffiti in the streets. People who do graffiti feel that it is more harmful to see propaganda all over the city which just gets to people to do and buy all the things they see rather than a city full of graffiti that represents more than just gang graffiti. However, many people have not realized that propaganda is more harmful than graffiti. The problem is that propaganda plays with our minds all the time, we humans get eye captured easily by any poster in the street and we don’t realized that all is doing is getting us to do and buy the things their posting. As graffiti is only representing something positive for our society and has nothing to do with playing with our minds and harming us. We should try to focus more on the positive things that graffiti has rather than the negative feelings people have about graffiti. Many people who do graffiti, do it because they also want to help someone else. For example, in Sao Paulo, this young man gets inspired through graffiti to someday be recognized and from there take this family away from poverty. Graffiti could have positive outcomes for people.
