Lecture: Identity

i enjoyed being in class on Tuesday, we talked about identity and how every person  has certain characteristics  that identify them whether it is in a good way or bad. For example, professor Glenn used the movie Avatar as reference . We watched a few senes where Jake is paralyzed and is not able to walk. Jake is used as a an experiment to be sent to the Pandora planet to help  explore the way the avatars live and what their would is like. When Jake was being sent to the planted thru the machine, he began to really like the life as an avatar not as a human. He became addicted because he was able to walk and enjoy his legs once again just like he did as a human. He then started to fall in love with one of the avatars, that gave him  more of a reason to go to the Pandora world.
After discussing identity with the class, i thought about how every person has their own identity that sets everyone apart from each other. For example, someone that is short, that is what identifies them physically, or also some that cant walk is also something that identifies someone physically. You can identify someone also by their personality. For example, some one that is funny and has a sense of humor could be set apart form everyone else. But when you think about it most people aren't satisfied with what they have. Everyone always wants what they dont have. For example, someone that is tall will most likely complains and ask why am i so tall i wish i was short. Same thing for a short person, they most likely would want to be tall.
To conclude, we should accept ourselves for who we are and how we were born because we dont have the choice and we can not change each other.
