Marc Chagall VS Salvador Dali

Marc Chagall

Marc was born on July 7,1887 in Russia. After living there for many years he decided to move to France in 1932. He then moved to the US in 1941 and lived here till 1948 he then moved back to France. Marc died in France on March 28, 1985.

Marcos painting  styles seem to me like they are mostly Expressionism and Cubism. In his paintings, he ofter painted violinists because he played the violin and also in memory of one of his uncles, who also liked to play. Looking at the paintings, i really liked the colores he used for each image. Also, the colors he used to shade. The color the he chose are not realistic colors the are usually used to shade, these are color that aren't usually used to shade. For example the image on top has purple, pink, yellow, blue and orange to shade. This painting looks unique, different but every eye catching and well done will life and precession.

This other painting was another one of my favorite. To me it looks like its a water paining. Everything looks so blended and as if the colors are meting all together. There aren't really any hard lines in this painting. The image, i also love. The lady looks like she is praying. Her facial expressions are full of passion.

Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali was born in Spain in 1904. When he was a child, he began to show strange behavior and often interrupted his classes in school. As he got older, he started to paint pictures that came from his dreams. The types of dreams he would have usually have were scary and unusual.

Deli went to an art school in Madrid, Spain. He got kicked out and never finished. He even spent time in jail at one point in his life.

Salvador always drew every item he could think of, but he would always change the image to something different and odd. For instance, the image above is one of his famous images. It is a clock, but a clock that is melting. The clock also looks like its antique and old, but that adds character to it and make the painting unique.

Before Dali died at the age of 85, he had created works and films, ballet, opera, fashion and also adevertising illustration.

This image above cached my attention because if you glance at it quickly it looks like a lady with blonde hair. If you focus on this image closely you can see that i it a part of a house where the curtains are the hair the wooden floor is part of her chin and face the eyes, nose and lips are objects that are part of the room but also create her face.
